Post ww2 Belfast Fire Brigade was instituted in 1950 with the change from Fire Authority reverting back to Fire's pre war title. Lasting until 1973 when all Northern Ireland's fire brigades amalgamated into Northern Ireland Fire Brigade this cap badge is in excellent condition. Belfast Fire Brigade had 5 stations covering the city & 2 variations of the cap badge exist. Both have different versions of the ship within t5he coat of arms & this is the more predominantly image faeturing gaps between the masts & a much more detailed version. The other variation is more of a silhouette & not so detailed. Manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham, a one piece produced cap badge in excellent condition with no enamel chips & both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the cap badge
