A 1st pattern original Bolton Fire Brigade cap badge used between 1948 & 1960 when the brigade changed its cap badge to the sought after Bolton coat of arms cap badge. Post war Bolton Fire Brigade had only 1 fire station covering 24 square miles of area & so not so many original cap badges from this small brigade are around. This cap badge is original & in excellent condition & the enamel centre fixed to the standard economy issue home office lined star, the 2 cap fixing lugs in place to the rear of the cap badge
