The early pattern Bolton Fire Brigade cap badge from the post war period, this coat of arms cap badge is the rarer & much harder to obtain cap badge depicting the arms of Bolton. It is a standard economy issue, lined Home Office star with enameled centre fixed to the star by 2 straps. The 2 cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the cap badge & manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham is in excellent condition. It was replaced by the red ring variety which was predominantely used up until the changeover in 1974 when the brigade became part of Lancashire County Fire Service upon the reforms of that year.
