Glasgow Fire Service post ww2 was formed in 1948 after the National Fire Service handed back regional fire control to county & county borough fire brigades. Glasgow, a large city had 15 fire stations covering 62 square miles of area. 2 variations of the cap badge exist mainly light or dark red.
This cap badge is in excellent condition & is the light red variation.  The enamel centre fixed to the standard economy issue Home Office star by a thin brass pin, both cap fixing lugs are intact to the rear of the cap badge. The lugs are showing brass which is an indication of an early issued cap badge.
