This post war Gloucestershire Fire Service cap badge issued in 1948, remained in force until 1985 when the brigade changed its title to Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service. Official cap badge suppliers to the brigade were Firmin & Sons of London, a couple of colour varieties exist, also a 4mm or 2.5mm thick enameled centre, the former being the earlier 1st issued cap badges. This is a Firmin 2.5mm thick centre cap badge, the words “ Gloucestershire Fire Service “ within a red enamel circlet surrounding the county emblem of Gloucestershire. In original condition with both cap retaining lugs in place, the enamel centre has some very minor enamel damage ( see pic ) & being fixed to the home office star by a thin brass pin which is also correct.

An obsolete & 100% original Gloucestershire post war 1948 issue cap badge in overall good condition.
