Hereford & Worcester Fire Brigade formed in 1974 with the Fire Services Act of the same year amalgamating all previous county borough fire brigades into county brigades. Worcester City and County Fire Brigade and Hereford County Fire Brigade were disbanded and merged into one brigade. The new brigade had 26 fire stations covering 631 square miles of area. 2 main badge manufacturers supplied Hereford and Worcester fire brigade, JR Gaunt of London and London Badge & Button Company. 

This cap badge is a J.R Gaunt manufactured cap badge, the enamel centre in excellent condition,  fixed to the standard fully pressed Home Office star, both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the badge.
