A Prussian commemorative flying award instituted in 1916 & presented to Army or Naval Air Service flyers & pilots that were unable to fly through disability, being P.O.W’s (prisoner of war), or were killed prior to 1916.

The badge depicts a sea eagle flying over land, within a laurel wreath & a Hohenzollern (Prussian) crown at the top, termed as a “vertical” style badge because the shape is taller rather than wider.
Some of the silver patina has aged & the badge is a cast brass manufacture, the pin is a straight flared pin & exceptionally well made, however this is a museum quality replica badge & aged! An original badge would be made of 800 silver, very rare & fetch in the region of £900 to £1,200!
