Like many fire services across the British Isles, Kent changed its title from fire brigade to ire & rescue service in 2004, reflecting the modern roles that fire & rescue services were now undertaking & aided by newer technology ! 

Kent Fire & Rescue Service was formed in 2004 & the new cap badge was issued, usually very hard to obtain because the service no longer issues individual cap badges, much smaller batches are made & used for official purposes, usually being issued from stores & returned after their function. 

This cap badge manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham is in great condition & both cap fixing lugs are attached to the rear !
