Leicester City Fire Brigade post ww2 was instituted in 1948 after The N.F.S ( National Fire Service ) handed back fire control to regional county & county borough fire brigades.

Leicester City Fire Brigade had 2 variations of cap badge for collectors, the fist is a chrome shield within the enamel centre which is the harder badge to find & a red enamel shield variation.
Leicester City Fire Brigade had 2 fire stations covering 27 square miles of the local area & disbanded in 1974 when another Fire Services Act of the same year merged all previous county borough fire brigades into county brigades & the brigade amalgamated with Leicestershire Fire Service.
This cap badge from Leicester City Fire Brigade is the chrome shield variation in excellent condition, the enamel centre fixed to the standard fully pressed Home Office star by 2 straps, both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the cap badge.
