A London Fire Brigade commemorative boxed cap badge set No 1583 of 2000 made. Manufactured by Marples & Beasley Badge Company in 1989 & featuring the brigades that merged with London in 1965 when the G.L.C ( Greater London Council ) was formed taking in stations from Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Middlesex & Surrey along with East Ham, West Ham & Croydon county borough fire brigades. This formed the new G.L.C London Fire Brigade & lasted until 1988 when the brigade changed it's title to L.F.C.D.A ( London Fire & Civil Defence Authority ) & a new cap badge with 3 crowns was issued.
