A reasonable original helmet badge for the Manchester Airport Fire Service ! Used condition it has the large retaining screws fixed to the rear that bolt into place at the front of the fire helmet !

Manchester Airport is situated in Ringway, Manchester & is the 3rd busiest U.K airport in terms of passenger numbers . There is some enamel damage as you would expect from an operational helmet badge that has seen “action” but overall it has retained the red enamel shield. 

Airport Fire Services & other private fire brigade original cap badges are gaining more interest from collectors, some have been reproduced already but this is a genuine example of an operationally used airport fire service helmet badge of the period !
