A 100% original hard to obtain cap badge from the small post war City Of Salford Fire Department. Salford City had just 1 fire station covering just 8 square miles so cap badges for this small fire brigade are very hard to come by as time wears on & more younger collectors come on the market. It was one of the hardest cap badges for myself to obtain when i started collecting in 1980 & didn't find one available until the late 1990's when i bought my first large complete collection for several thousand pounds from a deceased estate. 
The badge has the enamel centre attached to the standard issue fully pressed home office star via a thin brass pin. Both cap fixing lugs are attached to the rear of the badge. A great addition to any fire badge collection of a hard to obtain Salford City Fire Department
