The womens corps of the British Army was formed initially in 1938 as The A.T.S (Auxiliary Transport Service) & was redesignated as an official corps on 1st February 1949. The Corps lasted until 1992 when it was disbanded & staff transferred to The Adjutant Generals Corps. 

The idea to merge all women apart from certain exceptions into one corps & their key role was administrative & supportive tasks.
This is a post 1952 annodised Q.C (Queens Crown) cap badge of the Corps manufactured by Firmin Badge Company, London. It has the manufacturers mark stamped onto the slider attachment at the rear of the cap badge which is fully intact.
