Formed in 1961 the 7th Parachute Regiment of The Royal Horse Artillery is still a regiment of the British Army today. Amalgamated from the 33rd Parachute Light Regiment & serving with the 16th Air Assault Brigade, they have seen action in many theatres of war since 1961. A list of their deployments are Kuwait in 1961, Aden from 1963 to 1965, 4 tours of Northern Ireland, Cyprus in 1994, Bosnia in 1996 & Kosovo in 1999, Sierra Leone in 2000, Macedonia in 2001, Iraq in 2003 & finally 3 tours of Afghanistan from 2006. Their base was Aldershot in Hampshire originally but in 2003 they moved to Colchester in Essex.
