The Air Ministry was formed in 1918 during world war 1 ( 1914 to 1918 ) & merged into the Ministry Of Defence alongside other government departments i.e War Office & Admiralty government departments.
This is a great condition cap badge for the Air Ministry Fire Service in use between 1953 & 1964 ( 11 years ), a chrome 2 piece QC cap badge manufactured by J.R Gaunt Badge Company of London, official cap badge suppliers to the service. Both cap fixing lugs are intact to the rear of the cap badge.
