A hard to obtain industrial fire brigade cap badge this Avon Cosmetics Factory Fire Brigade enamel cap badge manufactured by London Badge & Button Company of Northamptonshire. The enamel centre fixed to the LB&B fully pressed Home Office star & both cap fixing lugs to the rear of the badge.
The Avon Cosmetics Company closed the Northampton factory in 2003 to save costs & moved its production to various global locations, but keeping its headquarters in Northampton only & served by Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service. The desire by collectors to obtain these smaller industrial fire brigade cap badges has grown & the cap badge for this Northamptonshire Factory Fire Brigade is in excellent used condition worn & issued from mid to late 1970's until closure in 2003 !
