This cap badge is the rarest of the post war Bedfordshire county fire service cap badges. Known as the rare “Roman Numerals” cap badge in use for only 4 years, the cap badge is in excellent 100% original condition. A used cap badge with the brass base metal finish on the enamel centre, secured to the standard economy issue home office star by a long thin brass pin securing the 2 short brass lugs of the centre, the 2 cap securing lugs in place to the rear & indicating the badge has been on a cap at some stage of its life! 
An excellent rare cap badge for the collector of fire service cap badges of the post war period & in original but great condition.
