The national police recruit training centre Bruche in Warrington, lancashire was operational from 1946 to train probationary police officers from the northern part of the UK & Wales after the 2nd world war ( 1939 to 1945. Originally built to house U.S Army Air Force personell here in the UK.
Police recruits spent 15 weeks at Bruche after their initial regional force training & in 1955 was one of only 2 training centres that accomodated female police officers in the UK
This cloth badge is in excellent condition & in use from 1953 to 2006 when the centre was finally closed & depicts the Queen Elizabeth 2nd St Edwards Coronet known as Queens Crown.
