Formed in 1974 as one of the first newly named modern fire & rescue services after the amalgamations of county borough brigades into county fire brigades & services. The Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service cap badges had a few colour & finish variations during the course of the badges lifespan, also thicker or thinner blue lined variations exist. The official cap badge manufacturer & supplier to the brigade was London Badge & Button Company & they were issued until 1995 when a cloth bullion cap badge was issued in an economy measure. In 2015 Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham produced a number of metal cap badges for the brigade & is now the official supplier of this brigade for its current issue metal cap badges!

This London Badge & Button Co cap badge has the more unusual slider attachment to the rear of standard lined the economy issue Home Office star. It is also the base metal finish variation with thinner blue lines.
