Cardiff City Fire Brigade post ww2 was formed in 1948 when the NFS ( National Fire Service 1941 to 1947 ) handed back fire control to regional county & county borough fire brigades. Cardiff City Fire Brigade had just 1 fire station covering 26 square miles of area. 
This cap badge has the enamel centre fixed to the standard fully pressed home office star & both cap fixing lugs are intact to the rear of the badge.
