These Chinese copper military medals have been appearing in this country for a little while, we have chosen a few individual ones for our site as there isn’t so much information regarding the issue or wearing of them. We know that they are obsolete & many run prior to 1970, with the size of the “Cold War” Chinese military forces, these medals were low grade awards & are generally vintage i.e 1950’s & 60’s era. This particular one caught our eye because of the resemblance of “George & the dragon”, relating to that in many ways, we guess this is the Chinese version as George appears to have a hat of “Oriental” design upon his head, dragons being a very cultural part of Chinese society! Also shaped like a George Cross, a very high & prestigious British gallantry award, this medal is in used but ok condition, a small enamel chip to the left arm of the cross but in honest vintage condition!
