100% original helmet transfer for The City Of Southampton Fire Brigade. This badge was in force for only 10 years, making paper transfers that are original & intact very rare for smaller county borough fire brigades of the pre 1974 period, especially limited year period transfers. This badge lasted for 10 years until the fire brigade reforms act of 1974 merged all 1948 post ww2 ( 1939 to 1945 ) county borough fire brigades into regional county brigades!
These helmet transfers are water based & to apply to a helmet it should be soaked in water for a few minutes, peeled off & carefully soft towel dabbed into place on the front of the fire helmet, then allowed to dry. The transfers had a glued water based backing that allowed them to stick to the helmet after drying
