Cleveland County Fire Brigade was formed in 1974 after the Fire Services Act of that year merged all previous county borough fire brigades into regional county fire services ! There are 2 patterns of this particular cap badge both manufactured by London Button & Badge Company who formed in the late 1960's ! This cap badge is the gilt variation & displays the fully pressed home office flat backed star, the vertical lance lugs of the enamelled centre pushed through & bent outwards. The cap fixing lugs also secured to the rear of the star. The gilt patina also very good with no wear or chips to the enamel.
