The post ww2 Darlington Fire Brigade had 2 main variations of cap badge in force until 1974 until the Fire Services Act of the smae year disbanded all previous county borough fire brigades into county brigades & Darlington amalgamated into Durham County Fire Brigade in 1974.

This variation manufactured by London Button & Badege Company is the yellow train with white carriage variation in chrome & good condition. The Darlington coat of arms cap badge instituted in 1960 has the enamel coat of arms centre fixed to the standard economy issue, lined Home Office star via a brass curly pin, both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the cap badge
