Dorset Fire & Rescue Service was formed in 1998 when the Dorset Fire Brigade changed its title around the same period that many fire brigades & services across the country were changing titles to reflect the greater roles in search & rescue that was demanded of the modern fire services. The Dorset Fire & Rescue Service merged with Wiltshire on 1st Apr 2016 to form the Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service!
