A genuine & hard to obtain Fire Service College instructors Cap Badge 1981 in excellent condition.
The College was formed in 1981 by the merger of the former Fire Service Staff College & Technical College, & the badge remained in force until it disbanded & the running of it handed over to private contractors Capita
These cap badges are very sought after as some of the most difficult to obtain of the post 1948 British fire service & brigade badges, worn only by appointed Fire Service College Instructors. The majority of pupils were serving fire service officers who wore their own many different brigade cap badges on the premises. 
The cap badge is the standard Crown Home Office Star with enameled Crown & seperate enamel centre, secured by a thin brass pin. To the rear also are the 2 cap fixing lugs.
