Grampian Fire Brigade was formed in 1975 after the Scottish post 1948 fire brigades merged all previous county & county borough fire brigades into county area fire brigades. Grampian was formerly the former North Eastern Area Fire Brigade & had 37 fire stations covering a total of 3,361 square miles of the North East of Scotland. 
This Grampian Fire Brigade senior officers cap badge manufactured by Mike Truerman Badge Company of Birmingham is in excellent condition. This Grampian Fire Brigade cap badge has the enamel centre fixed to the standard economy issue lined Home Office star, both cap fixing lugs attached to the rear of the badge & the whole badge attached to the standard officers wreath badge. 
The badge changed to a coloured enamel centre badge in 1996 which lasted until 2005 when the brigade changed title to Grampian Fire & Rescue Service
