Halifax Fire Brigade post ww2 ( World War 2 1939 to 1945 ) was formed in 1948 after the N.F.S ( National Fire Service 1941 to 1947 ) handed back fire control to regional county & county borough fire brigades. 

Halifax Fire Brigade was a small county borough brigade with only 1 fire station covering 22 miles of the Halifax area. Needless to say Halifax Fire Brigade cap badges are not easy to come by. There are 2 variations being a normal Home Office star or a SMALL Home Office star. This variation is the small star variation which are generally much harder to obtain. In good condition, the enamel centre attached to the economy issue lined small star, both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the cap badge.
