Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service was formed in 1993 after changing it's title from Hampshire Fire Brigade. It is ALSO the ONLY British county or county borough post 1948 fire brigade to have permission to display the Queen Elizabeth 2nd's St Edwards Coronet in its design. This was achieved when the new fire & rescue service was changing to the new title & the Deputy Chief Officer Alan House, wrote to Her Majesty asking for permission to incorporate it into the new badge design !

The area Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service  covered was 149 square miles with 54 fire stations. There are 2 manufacturers who supplied cap badges to the brigade, Toye Kenning & Spencer Badge Manufacturing Company of Birmingham supplied the 1st batch & Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham supplied the 2nd batch. There are in existence 6 GILT cap badges that were known to have been made but not issued. These cap badges are very rare indeed.
This cap badge manufactured by Toye Kenning & Spencer is in good condition. The enamel centre fixed to the standard lined economy issue Home Office star & both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the cap badge.
