Huddersfield Fire Brigade post ww2 was formed in 1948 after the N.F.S ( National Fire Service ) handed back fire control to regional county & county borough fire brigades. Situated in West Yorkshire County, Huddersfield was a small town fire brigade with just 1 fire station covering 22 square miles of the loacl area.
This Huddersfield Fire Brigade cap badge does have a chip to the red enamel. The enamel centre is fixed to the standard lined economy issue Home Office star via a thin brass pin. Both cap fixing lugs are intact to the rear of the cap badge & show brass which is an indication of an early issued cap badge.
A trick to repairing damaged cenamel is to find the correct matching coloured ladies nail varnish & applying gently with a thin paint brush head.
