The post ww2 Isle Of Man Fire Service was formed in 1960 by merging the small brigades on the Island into one fire service. The first pattern badge was a one piece pressing of a National Fire Service star with the Isle Of Man symbol in red enamel to the centre & a Queen Victoria's Coronet above. A very rare cap badge to obtain & only used for 5 years until the 2nd issue was produced by Firmin Badge Company of London. This variation had the enamel centre fixed to the standard issue pully pressed Home Office star.
This Firmin manufactured cap badge is in excellent condition with both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the badge.
