Jersey States Fire Service came into being in 1948 after the Fire Service Reforms Act of 1947 handing back regional fire control from The National Fire Service ( N.F.S ) to county & county borough authorities ! Jersey was an independant state & its not clear when they started issueing the normal home office star cap badge, a variety has been seen which we had in our possession that is a generic wreath style fire brigade cap badge with a Jersey crest on it but can 100% say it was a fake made up badge.
This Jersey States Fire Service cap badge has been manufactured by The London Button & Badge Company in 1970's & shows the flat back fully pressed Home Office star & the welded enamel centre.
A fine period cap badge from the Jersey States Fire Brigade & in good used condition with both cap fixing lugs attached to the rear of the badge.
