A Firmin manufactured London Fire & Civil Defence Authority / London Fire & Emergency Planning Authority cap badge. This London Fire Brigade cap badge, the 4th post war pattern was in use from 1988 when the brigade changed its title & badge to LFCDA & added 2 more crowns to the shield above "old father Thames", the blue & white waves depicting The River Thames ! The brigade changed its title again in 1999 renamed The London Fire & Emergency Planning Authority, LFEPA for short but carried on using the same cap badge until the new badge was adopted in 2010, the 5th post war pattern!

This badge has the slider style attachment to the rear which is very common among the London badges, stamped on the slider is Firmin, one of the 2 main manufacturers of this period London Fire Brigade cap badges.
Some of the earlier badges pre 1965 had lug attachments but predominantly sliders & the lugged varieties are harder to obtain. This badge has cap badge has a slight stain to the badge & is the FAT CROWN variation as there is also a thin crown variation in force. We have a lot of London cap badges in stock from all periods so please ask as they are a popular badge & it is very easy for us to find & supply a better example although we keep selling out of these as demand is high for all London badges.
