Another original 1st pattern London L.C.C. (London County Council) rarer cap badge in force for only 4 years from 1948 to 1952, the “closed towers” variation as its known to collectors, the “open towers” variation followed from 1952 to 1965.

In good original condition with the gilt patina & the enamel in good condition also. The majority of London cap badges especially in the later years are a slider fitment, however there are small batches of London Fire Brigade cap badges generally pre 1988 that have lugs but the majority are pre 1965!

There have been several manufacturers of London Fire Brigade cap badges since its insception including Marples & Beasley, London Badge & Button Co, Toye Kenning & Spencer & Firmin were all official suppliers to the LFB, unsure of this manufacturer but is an official & used cap badge & in good condition for its age of over 60 years old!
