London Scottish Rifle Volunteers were formed in 1859 by a group of Scots living in London. The recruitment came from The Highland & Caledonian Society's of London in that time & the regiment came under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Lord Elcho who later became the Earl of Wemyss & March. A famous British Army regiment that became saw action in the Boer & First World Wars as part of The London Regiment. Initially designated the 7th London Scottish Middlesex Rifle Corps & changing name in 1908 to become The 14th Battalion London Regiment ( London Scottish Volunteers )
