The old South Eastern Fire Brigade of Scotland originally formed in 1948 was disbanded in 1975 to form The Lothian & Borders Fire Brigade, this lasted 19 years until the brigade changed its title to Lothian & Borders Fire & Rescue Service in 2004, then amalgamating with all other Scottish fire service brigades in 2013 to form The Scottish Fire & Rescue Service!
This used but good condition cap badge manufactured by Firmin of London, official suppliers to the brigade retains an excellent gilt patina on the 2mm enamelled centre, the standard issue fully pressed home office star retaining its cap fixing lugs to the rear, the enamelled centre secured by the standard Firmin pattern pins folded inward to the rear of the star! 
In good used condition these Scottish cap badges of the era will become increasingly hard to obtain over time as collectors & enthusiast grow & well worth investment for the future!
