Northern Ireland Fire Authority was formed in 1950 & lasted until 1980 with 3 seperate pattern cap badges in force during that time. The 1st pattern was a star with seperate scroll underneath lasting until 1973 when a one piece star came into force. Lasting until 1980 then this 3rd pattern was issued but only for 4 years when the brigade changed it's title to Northern Ireland Fire Brigade. Manufactured by Firmin & Son badge company this 2 piece badge has the enamel centre fixed to the fully pressed standard Home Office star by 2 thin pins, both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear. A fine cap badge in force for only FOUR years.
