Northern Ireland Fire Brigade started life in 1984 after the change of title from the previous Northern Ireland Fire Authority. With 51 fire stations covering 5,238 square miles of Northern Ireland the fire brigade lasted until a new change of title in 2006 to Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service.
