Railway Convalescent Home Gilt & Enamel Brooch

Railway Convalescent Homes existed between the 1930s through to 1964. Early badges had six shields around a central core, later badges had 8 shields as more homes had been built. As their name implies, the homes looked after the needs of sick and convalescing railway workers.
