The U.S 7th Infantry Division was formed in 1917 & saw limited active service in ww1. It gained more recognition in ww2 takling heavy casualties in The Pacific Ocean theatre of war against the Imperial Japanese Army. Following the surrender of Japan they were stationed in Japan & Korea. Following the outbreak of The Korean War they were the 1st infantry unit to see action. Returning to the U.S.A they were based in Los Angeles, California until disbandment in 2006. This is a subdued cloth badge worn on the combat uniform & in great condition.
