A U.S Navy 1997 cloth badge for the cruiser USS Yorktown. The Yorktown went on a deployment for 5 months in the Caribbean to test "The Smart Ship" theory by being fully operational with a reduced crew. These were trials set by the U.S Navy to reduce costs of manpower and provisions & were called "SHOCK TRIALS".
