Introduced in 1974 after the West Midlands Fire Service was formed. This button depicts the map of the West Midlands newly formed area taking in all the pre 1974 county borough fire brigades across the county after The Fire Services Act of that year. This button has 2 variations i.e flat or domed ! The button was worn until 1981 when the badge changed to a coat of arms cap badge & new buttons were also issued on uniforms !
