A nice original cap manufactured by Firmin Badge Company of London for a police force that operated for only 6 years making these original cap badges desireable to collectors. 
York  & North East Yorkshire Police formed in 1968 & lasted until the 1974 merger into North Yorkshire Police.
The cap badge is a one piece chrome cap badge displaying the Q.C ( Queen Elizabeth 2nds Coronet 1953 to 2022 ) & the cap fixing slider stamp marked & attached to the rear of the badge.
